PETER CASE SONGWRITING WORKSHOP
Six weekly sessions-will focus on creating more vivid, exciting & evocative songs. The class will cover many subjects including: rhyming, imagery, meter, metaphor & simile, sophistication & simplicity, harmony & chord progressions, guitar tunings as a compositional tool, & breaking through " writer's block" . Many simple exercises & " tricks of the trade" will be shared. Songs will be written, performed & discussed in the workshop -in what will be an encouraging, friendly, & at times humorous environment-class size will be limited at 10 persons.

ACOUSTIC ROUTES & GUITAR STYLES
Folk, country-blues and various singer-songwriter approaches to guitar will be covered in this intermediate level course. Emphasis will be on Carter/Guthrie/Dylan-style flatpicking, Mississippi John Hurt-style fingerpicking, counrty blues techniques, Lightnin' Hopkins, alternate tunings, and many other items from Peter's bag of guitar tricks. He's been nominated for the Grammy awards as a performer and a producer, and has made 10 solo albums. His songs and arrangements have been published in Acoustic Guitar magazine, Mel Bay instructional books, and other guitar publications. He continues to tour and perform throughout the world.
